This year’s guest is Vittorio Hösle, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame (Indiana, USA), renowned for his work in political philosophy, ethics, and the history of ideas. Over the course of five public lectures, Professor Hösle will address the pressing theme of The Crisis of Liberalism.

Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele is pleased to announce the 2025 edition of the Rotelli Lectures, the annual lecture series dedicated to leading voices in contemporary philosophy.
This year’s guest is Vittorio Hösle, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame (Indiana, USA), renowned for his work in political philosophy, ethics, and the history of ideas. Over the course of five public lectures, Professor Hösle will address the pressing theme of The Crisis of Liberalism, analyzing the internal contradictions that threaten liberal democracies today, the philosophical foundations of the liberal order, and the possibilities for its renewal.
The lectures will take place from May 27 to 29, 2025, in Room DO102 of Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele, and are open to students, scholars, and the general public.

l seminario introduce l'opera di Vittorio Hösle in vista della nona edizione della Cattedra Rotelli intitolata The Crisis of Liberalism.
Studioso di Platone, di Vico e di Hegel, Hösle si distingue anche per l’attenzione alle questioni ecologiche, alla crisi della modernità, a tematiche estetiche e alla politica contemporanea. Attualmente docente presso la Notre Dame University, in Indiana (USA), il 6 agosto 2013 è stato insignito da Papa Francesco del titolo di Accademico ordinario della Pontificia Accademia delle Scienze Sociali.
